Steps Classic Building Cleaners has taken to protect the health and safety of staff and visitors to your workplace.

At our office
1.    We have eliminated all guests and/or visitors from the workplace environment
2.    All staff arriving to work must first enter a wash station and thoroughly wash your hands before entering the work area and sanitize the handle when entering the office.
3.    During the workday, each employee will keep their workplace clean and wash hands regularly. They will endeavor to avoid touching their face and will cough and/or sneeze in their arm.
4.    All deliveries are to be dropped outside of the main door.
5.    It is crucial that staff social distance in the workplace, keeping 2-meter distance from each other, talk from a distance and do not share phones unless they are disinfected.

At our Job Sites / Facilities
1.    Supervisors and floaters or extra staff are only to visit other facilities when needed.
2.    All staff arriving to work must first enter and thoroughly wash their hands before entering the work area.
3.    While working keep your workplace clean and wash hands. Endeavor not to touch your face and will cough and/or sneeze in your arm.
4.    While cleaning gloves are essential.
5.    Use proper cleaning and sanitizing and disinfecting procedures, not allowing micro rags or mops to get to soiled
6.    It is crucial that staff social distance in the workplace, keeping 2-meter distance from each other, talk from a distance and do not share phones unless they are disinfected.
7.    The infection control practices in our workplace is to clean and sanitize or disinfect all touch points.
8.    PPE are available on the work sites. PPE item can be requested from your supervisor or you may call our office.
9.    Keep communicating with you supervisor and/or head office so we can manage employee fear, anxiety, rumours, and misinformation. This can be done through phone, text, or email. Head office will communicate to staff through email.
10.    Head office is in communication with most of our clients on a regular basis and government on a daily basis, so we are aware of any issues going on in their facilities
11.    If a worker is not feeling well or presume to have the virus, they should stay away from others and self isolate.

Due to the existing environment we are now living in with the COVID 19 pandemic, Classic Building Cleaners wants to stress more then ever our existing policy to always have staff working in a safe environment.

As stated in our policies and procedures handbook staff should always wear the proper PPE equipment in doing your job. That includes gloves, which should always be worn.

Cleaning supplies and services are an essential business that may remain open to ensure the health and well-being of Canadians. As always, the health and well-being of Classic Building Cleaners employees is our top priority and foremost concern. We strive to keep employee workspaces clean and disinfected. We are practicing social distancing. We are encouraging frequent hand washing and regular hand sanitizing.

Our actions to protect our people in response to COVID-19, are consistent with guidance from Health Canada, provincial and local authorities, and the World Health Organization. They include the requirement to self-quarantine after travel, if diagnosed with COVID-19, and/or if exposed to someone diagnosed with COVID-19.

Cleaning and Disinfecting Environmental Surfaces in Facilities as Recommended by the CDC for Proper Cleaning and Disinfecting
1.    Clean housekeeping surfaces (e.g., floors, tabletops) on a regular basis, when spills occur, and when these surfaces are visibly soiled.

This means that before any surface can be disinfected you must first clean it. Which means wearing proper gloves you would go around the facility, with a micro rag spray down all touch points ( meaning any point that people in the facility may touch i.e. door frames, counter tops, stair rails, touch pads, elevator buttons, counter tops, door handles, fridge handles etc.…). As the micro rag becomes dirty change it out with a clean one. Once the soil is cleaned from the touch point surfaces this does not mean it is disinfected.

2.    Disinfect (or clean) environmental surfaces on a regular basis and when surfaces are visibly soiled. Once the touch points have been thoroughly cleaned disinfecting starts.

Before starting the disinfection procedure, you must replace gloves with new clean ones to prevent cross contamination. If using a micro rag start off with a new clean one, then spray or soak it down with the disinfecting agent so the micro rag is totally wet (this stop any possible cross contamination because the rag is now a sanitized surface). Now use the rag to wet down the touch points and walk away to let dry, this will sanitize the surface. Repeat this on all touch points, if the micro rag starts to get dry, re-apply more disinfecting solution. If micro rag shows some soiling, replace with new one and soak with disinfectant solution (soiled rags weaken the disinfecting solution).

Floor Maintenance...We feel it is critical to have a floor maintenance program in place.  Floors are washed nightly with a neutral all-purpose cleaner and water is changed frequently.  They are polished with a high-speed burnisher using the appropriate pad for each finish. This is usually done on a weekly basis to enhance a bright and clean appearance of your floors. Floors should be scrubbed and or stripped and waxed when the floor becomes soiled or worn in appearance depending on the amount of traffic in this area.
